This past October, Preferred Materials Asphalt Project Manager, Anibal “Dee” Rodriguez, competed in and completed the 2016 Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC. Dee is a Veteran Marine Corps Captain and joined the Preferred Materials family in August, 2015 and currently works in the Central Region of PMI Asphalt located in Kissimmee, FL.
The Marine Corps Marathon is a 26.2 mile race that starts near the Pentagon, runs through the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and finishes at the Marine Corps Memorial at the Arlington National Cemetery. Dee proudly completed the race while sporting a Preferred Materials t-shirt.

On February 10, 2016, the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) awarded Preferred Materials, Inc. with the 2015 Larry H. Lemon Quality in Construction Award in the General Paving (less than 50,000 tons) category. Preferred was honored with this prestigious award for its repair work on 16.38 centerline miles on a total of 64 Sarasota county streets; earning top 10 ranking and superior benchmarks by pavement engineers at the National Center for Asphalt Technology. …Read more

On February 10, 2016, it was announced that the Central Region of Preferred Materials Concrete was awarded with the 2015 Oldcastle Materials Innovation Award for Customer Service. Preferred’s customer was Jett Concrete and the project was a Sam’s Club in central Florida. …Read more
