In June 2014, Preferred Materials provided 51,000 square yards of asphalt pavement to Skanska USA Inc. and Jr. Davis Construction Company to be used at the Florida Polytechnic University campus located in Lakeland, Florida. Florida Polytechnic University (FPU), established in 2012, is Florida’s only public university that is dedicated to preparing students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers. The FPU campus has 26 classrooms, 11 innovation labs, a freshman residence hall and sits on 170 acres along Interstate 4; halfway between Tampa and Orlando. The site also includes eight large retention ponds, 27 miles of sidewalks, 900 parking spaces and a 2-mile ring road surrounding the campus.
The Arlington is a new luxury resort-style continuing care retirement community which required Preferred Materials to provide 25,000 cubic yards of concrete and a wide array of structural concrete mix designs.
In mid-October 2014, Preferred Materials, Inc. began a 4-mile resurfacing project of Pelican Bay Blvd. in Naples, FL.
Preferred Materials, Inc recently supplied over 6000 cubic yards of our specialty product DrainReady for use in the beach parking lots on Siesta Key.
