Project: Interlakken Light Industrial Building
Location: Largo, FL
Company: Preferred Materials Inc. - Concrete Division
Completion Date: May 2011
Preferred Materials Inc. provided 1200 cubic yards of concrete on the Interlakken Light Industrial Building project in May of 2011. The General Contractor for this project is Ron Sinclair, and the Concrete Contractor is Natoli Masonry. Mr. Natoli has used PlaceReady™ on several smaller projects in and around Tampa for the last two years. He has appreciated the many benefits that PlaceReady™ imparts. Using PlaceReady on this project allowed Mr. Natoli to reduce his crew size from 15 men to 6 men. We utilized Novomesh 850 secondary fiber reinforcing system to reduce plastic shrinkage cracks, replace welded-wire-mesh, and improve the long-term durability of the light industrial slab (12 lbs/yd³). PlaceReady™ was poured at a 21 inch spread, which allowed the concrete to self-level, and virtually eliminated the need to screed. Mr. Natoli commented that he loves to finish PlaceReady™ concrete, and that in his 30 years of experience it is the best he has ever worked with. PlaceReady™ can be customized to overcome many issues that cost contractors time and money.
The Arlington is a new luxury resort-style continuing care retirement community which required Preferred Materials to provide 25,000 cubic yards of concrete and a wide array of structural concrete mix designs.
