RiverPort Business Park offers ±1,700 acres for warehousing, distribution and light industrial use; located in Hardeeville, South Carolina, just east of the Savannah River on Highway 17. RiverPort is situated within 10 miles of the Port of Savannah and provides convenient access to Interstate 95, CSX rail lines, the Port, and the future Jasper County Ocean Terminal. RiverPort Business Park is part of the overall 5,136-acre RiverPort property with 2,533 acres of mixed use light commercial and a 1,441 acre site with 15 million square feet of wharehousing proposed.
Preferred Materials, Inc. provided milling and paving services to place 4,594 tons of Hotmix Asphalt Paving for the opening of RiverPort Phase 2 Business Park. The project included milling, resurfacing, new paving, striping and signage. It consisted of a type A base, Intermediate Type B Surface and a Type B Surface. The stone originated from Oldcastle Materials Warren County Quarry in Augusta, Ga. The base aggregate was purchased from our sister company Conrad Yelvington by Terry Lee Contracting. Nick Lancaster, Construction Manager for Terry Lee Contracting, the General Contractor stated, “We subcontracted with Preferred Materials, Inc. for this project because we have worked with them before and we were confident in their ability to perform high quality work. They finished ahead of schedule and the quality was remarkable. We have come to expect that from Preferred Materials. They are professional in every aspect and are very considerate of others in their work zone areas and are very safety conscious. We will definitely use them for future projects.”
The Arlington is a new luxury resort-style continuing care retirement community which required Preferred Materials to provide 25,000 cubic yards of concrete and a wide array of structural concrete mix designs.
In mid-October 2014, Preferred Materials, Inc. began a 4-mile resurfacing project of Pelican Bay Blvd. in Naples, FL.
Preferred Materials, Inc recently supplied over 6000 cubic yards of our specialty product DrainReady for use in the beach parking lots on Siesta Key.
