Project: SR 10 (Atlantic Blvd.)
Location: Jacksonville, FL
Company: FDOT
Completion Date: August 7, 2015
Awards: Nominated for 2015 NAPA Quality in Construction Award
In February 2015, Preferred Materials began improvements under an FDOT contract consisting of resurfacing, restoring and rehabilitating SR 10 (Atlantic Boulevard). This project included milling and resurfacing the existing 1.7 miles of 6-lane divided highway. Additional enhancements included curb and gutter repair, drainage improvements, sidewalk and pedestrian ramp reconstruction, signing and pavement markings as well as minor signalization improvements.
This stretch of Atlantic Boulevard is arguably one of the busiest roads in Jacksonville with those commuting from Jacksonville’s Beaches to downtown. Daniel Vickrey, Project Manager for Preferred Materials, stated, “Preferred is very proud of our team’s ability to exceed target expectations night after night, and still get the road open on time without fail. MOT Supervisor Troy Brown, Chris Harrell’s milling crew and Russell Roberts’ paving crew did a spectacular job protecting our employees while keeping traffic running smoothly.” Due to the extent of construction work, scheduling requirements and community response of this project, Preferred has been nominated for a 2015 NAPA Quality in Construction Award.
The Arlington is a new luxury resort-style continuing care retirement community which required Preferred Materials to provide 25,000 cubic yards of concrete and a wide array of structural concrete mix designs.
In mid-October 2014, Preferred Materials, Inc. began a 4-mile resurfacing project of Pelican Bay Blvd. in Naples, FL.
Preferred Materials, Inc recently supplied over 6000 cubic yards of our specialty product DrainReady for use in the beach parking lots on Siesta Key.
