Marie Glenn

Marie Glenn is the President of Preferred Materials, Inc., responsible for the company’s Concrete, Aggregates, Asphalt and Construction businesses in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and South Carolina.  Preferred Materials employs approximately 1,900 people with over $1 billion in sales.

With more than 26 years of progressive leadership in the construction materials industry, Marie has built a career spanning strategy, sales, marketing, logistics and operations. She got her start as a plant engineer at Dufferin Concrete in 1999, then moved into successively more senior roles in the cement and aggregates businesses.  She most recently served as Senior Vice President of Strategy at CRH PLC, leading the company’s global business strategy function and shaping growth initiatives worldwide.

Marie believes that great companies are built by great people and she is passionate about developing talent at every level of the organization. She focuses relentlessly on safety, investing in people, fostering innovation, and staying close to customers as the foundation for long-term success in the construction industry.  Under her leadership, Preferred Materials will continue to build on its long-standing position as a trusted partner — delivering high-quality materials and services that help build and maintain the communities it serves.

Marie holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo and an Executive MBA from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and the University of St. Gallen.
